Frequently asked questions
What are the AA and AAA thresholds?
AA requires at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. AAA requires 7:1 and 4.5:1 respectively. Large text generally means at least 24 CSS px, or about 18.67 px when bold.
Does passing make my whole site accessible?
No. This checks text contrast between two opaque solid colors only. It does not assess keyboard access, alternative text, gradients, background images or other accessibility requirements.
