1. Define the business event before the platform event
Map the journey first: visit, contact action, submitted information, confirmed need and completed transaction. Write the evidence needed for each step before choosing a platform event.
Platform names, account settings and receiving methods vary. The following categories describe business actions, not universal platform event names or a promise of automatic CRM integration.
| Action | Evidence | Does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Contact click | Specified link clicked | A conversation happened |
| Form submission | Receiving service confirmed success | Lead qualification or a sale |
| Qualified lead | Business rules or sales confirmation | Payment |
| Purchase | Confirmed order or sales result | Only a buy-button click |
2. Create one mapping per component
Record the component, action, trigger, destination platform, event, duplicate handling and owner. A form success should wait for confirmed receipt. Opening a contact dialog is a separate interest action.
LanderGrow supports conversion components and configured reporting to Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads. Confirm available components and account requirements during setup. A configured label is not evidence of platform receipt.
- Document the real action for every component.
- Choose optimization goals that match the customer stage.
- Wait for confirmed receipt before a success event.
- Distinguish test activity from production activity.
3. Review duplicates and failures
Refreshes, back navigation, repeated clicks and retries can duplicate events. When browser and server reporting send the same conversion, follow the platform's requirements for shared deduplication identifiers rather than assuming automatic handling.
A failed submission should preserve input and allow a retry without a success event. A contact click cannot prove that someone added an account or purchased inside another app.
4. Verify the trigger and the receipt separately
First confirm that the website triggers the event at the correct point. Then check receipt in the platform's event or diagnostic interface. Receipt alone does not prove attribution to a specific ad.
Test successful and failed submissions, double clicks, refreshes, return navigation and mobile app handoffs. Check consent and data requirements when using customer details; keep form contents out of URLs and ordinary event logs.
- Valid actions trigger the expected number of events.
- Failures do not trigger success events.
- Account and event identifiers are correct.
- Website triggers and platform receipt have separate records.
- Duplicate handling and test procedures are documented.
5. Add sales feedback when quality is the goal
Form counts alone cannot identify a suitable budget or a confirmed buying need. Define a qualified lead, then assess supported CRM, offline data or platform feedback methods.
Google's enhanced-conversions-for-leads guidance covers qualified or converted lead goals. Implementation depends on your account, data and connection. It is not a default feature of every page builder. Confirm the scope before using the signal for bidding.
Frequently asked questions
Does a received event guarantee ad attribution?
No. Website triggering, platform receipt and attribution are separate states. Attribution also depends on click association, windows, settings and platform processing.
Can a WhatsApp click count as a purchase?
A click does not confirm payment. Record the contact action separately and use an order or sales result to establish a purchase.
