How to Copy a Landing Page Design

To copy a landing page design responsibly, separate the design system from the original business content. Study hierarchy, spacing and the order of information, then rebuild the page around your offer. This guide focuses on design adaptation rather than the mechanics of importing a URL.

Updated

Map the page into functional blocks

Before editing, draw a simple inventory of the reference. Label each block by its job: establish relevance, explain the offer, show proof, answer objections or request an action. This prevents copying a long page merely because its sections look polished.

For each block, write the visitor question it answers. A product image might explain what is included; a timeline might explain what happens after the enquiry. If you cannot name the question, the section may be decorative or unnecessary for your campaign. Keep only what supports a real decision.

Replace the visual system with your own brand

Choose your own type scale, colors and image style. Keep a small set of spacing values so the page feels consistent after new content is added. A reference can suggest a layout pattern without requiring its exact logo, photographs or distinctive brand treatment.

Use assets your team owns or is allowed to use. Replace decorative screenshots that describe another product with images that explain yours. If you do not have a useful image, a clear text block can be better than an unrelated stock photo. Make the page recognizably yours.

Rewrite the argument for your audience

Do not fill the reference with synonyms. Start with the visitor’s problem and your approved offer, then write each section from that context. A design created for an immediate product purchase may need more process explanation when adapted to a business consultation.

Match the information depth to the decision. A local repair enquiry needs service area and availability expectations; a B2B discussion needs a use case, fit criteria and a clear follow-up. Replace irrelevant proof with evidence you have. If there is no evidence yet, explain the process honestly.

Adapt the layout for mobile reading

A two-column desktop layout should not be compressed into two narrow mobile columns. Decide which content comes first, place related explanations together and keep the action close to the information needed for it. Review long translated headings rather than assuming the same line breaks.

Use consistent readable text and sufficient spacing around controls. Check the image crop and make sure essential information is not embedded only in an image. Test the page with the keyboard open, because a form that looks comfortable before typing can become awkward during an actual enquiry.

Design the customer action as part of the page

The action label should describe the next step: request a service discussion, check availability or view a specific product. Place a short expectation statement near it. A visually prominent button still needs a destination that matches the offer and the team’s capacity to respond.

For a lead form, connect each field to a follow-up decision. Remove fields that are merely convenient for internal reporting, unless they are necessary and explained. Keep the form and confirmation language consistent. Visitors should understand whether they have sent a request or completed a confirmed transaction.

Review the adaptation before launch

Compare the new page with your brief, not only with the reference screenshot. Ask a person outside the project to explain the offer and next step after reading it. Their answer tells you whether the adapted design communicates what your campaign actually needs.

LanderGrow can start from an authorized URL or a template, then support later editing. Use that starting point to save structural work while retaining responsibility for claims and assets. Publish only after the form, contact destination and mobile layout have been checked.

  • Every block answers a visitor question
  • Brand assets are owned or licensed
  • Claims describe your actual offer
  • Mobile reading order is clear
  • Primary action and confirmation agree

Frequently asked questions

Is studying a design the same as copying its assets?

No. General structure can inspire your own page, while logos, photos, text and other assets require appropriate permission.

Should the adapted page match every pixel?

Focus on your campaign goal, editable content and mobile behavior. Exact resemblance does not prove usefulness.

Can I change the conversion goal?

Yes, but rebuild the content and action around the new goal instead of replacing only the button label.
